What this station is useful for

Overview

One stop east of Maihama, Shin-Urayasu Station serves the hotels and shopping centers of the Shin-Urayasu Station Area. The area is convenient for travelers staying at a Tokyo Disney Resort Partner Hotel, but this isn't the station at the park entrance.

The station is JE08 on the JR Keiyo Line. Musashino Line trains also stop here, sharing the same tracks through this part of Chiba.

Lines and connections

Inbound Keiyo and Musashino Line trains run toward Maihama and Tokyo. Maihama is the next stop and the JR gateway for Tokyo Disney Resort. The ride takes about three minutes, while Tokyo Station is about 17 minutes away, depending on the stopping pattern.

Outbound trains continue toward Kaihimmakuhari and Soga, and some Musashino services run on toward Fuchuhommachi. These routes also support trips along the Chiba bayfront. There is no Shinkansen service here.

Airport access

Paid airport limousine buses connect the station area with Haneda and Narita airports. Boarding points are outside the ticketed JR area, and nearby hotels don't necessarily sell tickets or handle reservations.

This is a coach service, not a direct airport train. Check the operator's latest timetable and boarding point against your flight, since journey times and service frequency can change.

Station area

Oriental Hotel Tokyo Bay connects directly to the station's north side by pedestrian deck. Urayasu Brighton Hotel Tokyo Bay is also beside the station, while other Shin-Urayasu hotels require a longer walk or local transport.

Atre Shin-Urayasu adjoins the station and has its own ticket gate during published hours. MONA Shin-Urayasu and Aeon Shin-Urayasu are also close by, putting food, restaurants, pharmacies, and everyday shopping within easy reach of overnight guests.

What's nearby

The immediate surroundings form a planned town center rather than a sightseeing district. Most visitors come for their hotel, the three shopping centers, or a transfer to a park shuttle. Parks and residential streets extend across the wider bayfront, so walking times deserve attention when comparing hotels.

A tourist information counter operates near the station during published daytime hours. It can help with local maps and information about Urayasu, but don't rely on it late in the evening.

Good to know

Use Maihama, not Shin-Urayasu, when traveling directly to Tokyo Disney Resort by JR. From a Partner Hotel here, the free bus may be easier than taking the train one stop and then continuing to a park entrance.

The station has a central gate and a separate Atre gate. Follow the signs for your hotel or shopping center rather than assuming both gates lead to the same side.
