Overview
Kyobashi Station is a Tokyo Metro Ginza Line station in Chuo, central Tokyo. It is positioned between the eastern side of Tokyo-Ginza, the Kyobashi business and hotel district, and the Yaesu side of Tokyo Station. For visitors, it is especially useful when a hotel, office, or gallery is closer to Kyobashi than to the larger Ginza or Tokyo Station complexes.
Lines and connections
Kyobashi is served only by the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and is numbered G10. Trains run toward Shibuya in one direction and Asakusa in the other, with Ginza Station one stop toward Shibuya and Nihonbashi one stop toward Asakusa.
This makes Kyobashi a focused subway stop rather than a major transfer hub. It works well for straightforward Ginza Line trips across central Tokyo, while travelers who need JR lines, Shinkansen services, or long-distance rail should use Tokyo Station instead.
Station area
Kyobashi is a smaller and often simpler arrival point than nearby Tokyo Station, which can make it more convenient for hotels and destinations around Kyobashi, Takaracho, and the eastern side of Ginza. The National Film Archive of Japan is close to both Kyobashi and Takaracho, and its access guidance also places Ginza-itchome and Tokyo Station within the wider walking network.
Takaracho Station on the Toei Asakusa Line is nearby but separate. It may be the better choice when traveling on the Asakusa Line, while Kyobashi is better suited to Ginza Line trips toward Ginza, Nihonbashi, Ueno, Asakusa, or destinations on the Shibuya side.
What's nearby
The surrounding area is practical rather than landmark-heavy, with hotels, offices, restaurants, galleries, and commercial buildings around the station. Ginza shopping and dining are to the southwest, while the Yaesu side of Tokyo Station is to the north.
For sightseeing, Kyobashi is usually part of a wider Ginza, Nihonbashi, or Tokyo Station plan rather than a destination in itself. Its main value is how neatly it fills the gap between those larger areas.
Good to know
Do not treat Kyobashi Station as a substitute for Tokyo Station. Use Kyobashi for the Ginza Line and nearby Kyobashi addresses; use Tokyo Station for Shinkansen services, JR routes, Narita Express, and the main Yaesu-side rail terminal.
