Overview
With Tsutenkaku in one direction and the transport interchange around Shin-Imamiya Station in the other, Hiyori Hotel Osaka Shinsekai puts the district at the doorstep. The JR East Exit and Dobutsuen-mae Station Exit 5 are each about two minutes away, while Tsutenkaku is roughly three minutes on foot. Sightseeing starts as soon as you step outside.
The 103-room hotel reopened under the Hiyori name in February 2026 after operating as Joytel Hotel Osaka Shinsekai. Every room has a twin layout, while scheduled drinks and a late-evening rice dish provide more in-house support than a basic room-only stay. It's an easy setup to navigate.
Rooms
Room choice is straightforward because every category has two main beds. The 15-square-meter Standard Twin is the smallest, while most rooms measure at least 18 square meters. Superior and corner rooms both sleep two, Hollywood Twins place the beds together, and Deluxe Twins guarantee landmark views.
Serta beds and smart televisions come as standard. Wi-Fi and USB charging cover connectivity, while every room also has a refrigerator and kettle. A foot massager and shoe dryer are welcome after a long day on foot, and hair care equipment includes both a dryer and an iron. The 30.8-square-meter suite sleeps three with an extra bed and has a separate universal-design bathroom.
Facilities
A 24-hour front desk and multilingual self check-in machines handle arrivals. During the afternoon session, the first-floor guest lounge provides complimentary hot drinks, Wi-Fi, and power outlets. It's a comfortable place to pause or get a little work done between outings.
Coin laundry is also on the first floor, and guests can check machine availability from their room television. A microwave, smoking room, accessible toilet, and foreign-currency exchange machine cover other everyday needs. Paid parking is limited to two reserved spaces, so arriving by train is far more flexible.
Dining
Restaurant CONA serves a breakfast buffet with more than 30 dishes. The selection features Osaka specialties, ingredients associated with Naniwa Ward, and bread baked at the hotel each morning.
Scheduled refreshments are served in the restaurant and lobby for staying guests. These include welcome drinks, early-evening beer or sake, late-evening dashi chazuke, and morning coffee. They don't replace a full lunch or dinner menu, but they create pleasant pauses around a day in the city.
Location and transport
The JR East Exit at Shin-Imamiya is about two minutes from the hotel. JR Osaka Loop Line trains serve Tennoji and Osaka Station, while Yamatoji Line services provide routes toward JR Namba and Nara. Nankai trains use the wider interchange too, though the railway's West Exit is about six minutes away.
Dobutsuen-mae Exit 5 is also about two minutes from the hotel. Midosuji Line trains run directly to Namba and Shinsaibashi before continuing north to Umeda and Shin-Osaka. Sakaisuji Line trains instead serve Nippombashi, Sakaisuji-Hommachi, and Kitahama. That combination is particularly helpful when a day mixes southern Osaka sightseeing with trips across the city center.
This is firmly inside Osaka-Shinsekai, not just near it. Tsutenkaku, Spa World, Janjan Yokocho, and the district's restaurant streets are all within walking distance, so an evening out doesn't require another train ride.
Airport access
Nankai trains run directly from Shin-Imamiya to Kansai International Airport, and the hotel publishes an overall rail journey of about 40 minutes from the airport. Reaching the Nankai platforms means using the railway's West Exit, roughly six minutes from the hotel, rather than the closer JR route.
The airport connection is direct rail service from the nearby station, not a hotel-door shuttle. Travel to Itami Airport requires a transfer, so anyone with an early domestic flight should compare current rail and limousine-bus options before departure day.
Why stay here
Shinsekai begins at the door, yet airport rail and central subway connections remain a short walk away. All-twin rooms give couples and friends a straightforward choice, while laundry, breakfast, and scheduled refreshments can make short family trips easier.
Tsutenkaku, Janjan Yokocho, and long-established kushikatsu and doteyaki shops define the surrounding streets. Staying in the district gives you time to explore after day-trippers leave, although the lively setting won't feel as polished or quiet as Osaka's business districts.
Good to know
All guest rooms are non-smoking, with a smoking room on the first floor. Standard housekeeping takes place every third day, while towels and rubbish can be handled daily. The hotel became Hiyori Hotel Osaka Shinsekai on February 1, 2026, so older maps and booking records may still show the former Joytel name.
2-minute walk
