Overview
Sotetsu Fresa Inn Osaka Namba Ekimae stands between the subway entrance and Nankai's rail terminal on the south side of Namba. You can walk back from dinner in Dotonbori without worrying about the last train.
Rooms
Standard doubles fit a 140 cm-wide bed into 11.8 square meters. Two guests traveling with suitcases may find the 17.1-square-meter twin easier to manage, with more floor space and two separate beds. Families or friends can book two connecting twins for up to four people and move between the rooms without entering the corridor. All rooms are non-smoking.
Facilities
Lobby kiosks handle check-in, and extras such as tea bags and bath salts are available nearby. Room charges are cashless, so bring a credit card or an accepted QR payment app. A coin laundry is handy if you're packing light.
Dining
Granduca, the ground-floor Italian restaurant, serves a breakfast buffet from 6:30 to 10:00, with last entry at 9:30. Focaccia and frittata are among the Italian dishes. For dinner, walk north toward Dotonbori for takoyaki, the small balls of batter filled with octopus, or griddle-cooked okonomiyaki.
Location and transport
Exit 7 of Namba Station is about a minute's walk from the hotel. Exit 5, which has an escalator, is roughly two minutes away. The Midosuji subway line runs to Umeda and Shin-Osaka, where you can transfer to the Shinkansen.
For a Nara day trip, follow the underground signs to Kintetsu's Osaka-Namba Station. Direct trains run from there to Kintetsu-Nara.
Airport access
The north entrance of Nankai Namba Station is about two minutes away on foot. Both the reserved-seat Rapi:t and the regular Airport Express run directly to Kansai International Airport.
For Itami Airport, limousine buses serve Namba. Check the stop shown on your ticket before leaving, since some services use the Osaka City Air Terminal beside JR Namba.
Why stay here
If you have one night in Osaka before a flight, you can leave your bags near the airport train and spend the evening in Minami. Two people sharing a standard double may appreciate the extra space of a twin on a longer stay.
The covered Ebisubashisuji shopping street leads north from Namba to Ebisubashi Bridge. From there, you can see the Glico running-man sign across the water before turning along the canal for its illuminated signs and restaurant fronts.
