THE MARITIME HOTEL YOKOHAMA BAY

Publication date:

The Maritime Hotel Yokohama Bay is accepting reservations for stays from January 30, 2027, when it is scheduled to open in the Yokohama Yusen Building. Operated by Plan・Do・See, the 50-room hotel will retain the exterior of the 1936 building, once Nippon Yusen’s Yokohama branch.

Artistic director hideya has based the interiors on places connected by Nippon Yusen’s former shipping routes, including Bengal, Alexandria, Marseille, Boston and Canton. Tables with Arita porcelain tops and chairs upholstered in fabrics sourced internationally will combine Japanese craftsmanship with materials from overseas. Ship models and furnishings from former cruise ships will also be displayed.

Heritage rooms measure 48 to 54 square meters, while Maritime Suites reach 80 square meters. Guest rooms will have Simmons beds, Molton Brown bath amenities and Tivoli Audio Bluetooth speakers. Turndown service will take place between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Restaurant Deck will serve Italian cooking with Spanish and other port-city influences, with an open kitchen and outdoor terrace. Breakfast will combine a buffet with a choice of main dish, followed by à la carte and set lunches, afternoon desserts, and à la carte or course dinners. The restaurant will also welcome non-staying guests, with reservations scheduled to open around December 2026.

An adjoining bar will stock Japanese and international whiskies and craft gin. Separately, the guest lounge beside the entrance lobby will offer snacks, sweets and drinks, including alcohol, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Lounge access will be limited to guests whose accommodation plans include it.

The fitness room will be open to hotel guests 24 hours a day and equipped with Nike Strength training equipment. Sportswear and shoes will be available to borrow free of charge. There will be no treadmills; the hotel will instead provide suggested running routes through Yokohama.

Other services will include room service, in-room aromatherapy treatments and relaxation massages. Rental bicycles will be available to hotel guests from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. for exploring areas such as Minato Mirai and Yamate. Airport transfers by private car will require advance reservations.

Room rates start at 44,000 yen, including tax and service charges. The hotel is at 3-9-1 Kaigandori, Naka Ward, Yokohama, a two-minute walk from Exit 6 of Bashamichi Station on the Minatomirai Line, near the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and Minato Mirai.
