Overview
Tokyo Akasaka Station is the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line stop for Akasaka in central Minato. It is the most direct subway station for many hotels, dining streets, offices, Akasaka Sacas, Akasaka Biz Tower, and the blocks near TBS in the middle of the district.
Lines and connections
The station is served by the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line as C06, between Nogizaka and Kokkai-gijidomae. Trains run toward Yoyogi-uehara in one direction and Kita-ayase in the other.
For visitors, the Chiyoda Line is useful for subway trips to Omote-sando, Hibiya, Otemachi, Nishi-nippori, and Kita-senju, with transfer points to other Tokyo Metro, Toei, JR, Keisei, and private railway lines. It is better suited to cross-city subway travel than to direct JR access.
Station area
The station serves the middle of the Tokyo-Akasaka district, where several subway stations may be convenient depending on your destination. Use Tokyo Akasaka Station when your hotel, restaurant, office, or theater is near Akasaka proper, Akasaka Sacas, or Akasaka Biz Tower.
Akasaka-mitsuke Station is often better for Ginza Line and Marunouchi Line routes, including trips toward Shibuya, Ginza, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, and Tokyo Station. Tameike-sanno Station works well for the eastern side of Akasaka and for routes using the Ginza or Namboku Line.
What's nearby
The surrounding area is known for dining, hotels, corporate headquarters, and entertainment around Akasaka Sacas and the TBS Broadcasting Center. Visitor spots in the wider district include Hie Shrine, Akasaka Hikawa Shrine, Toyokawa Inari Tokyo Betsuin, and the State Guest House Akasaka Palace, though the best station depends on the exact destination.
Good to know
Tokyo Akasaka Station, Akasaka-mitsuke, and Tameike-sanno are separate route-search choices even though they serve the same broad district. If you are choosing a hotel in Akasaka, check the nearest subway exit and line before deciding which station to use, especially when carrying luggage or arriving from a large terminal elsewhere in Tokyo.
