IHG Hotels & Resorts announced that it will open Holiday Inn Express Sapporo Susukino in July 2026 at Minami 5-jo Nishi 6-14-1 in Sapporo's Chuo Ward.
The property is being renovated jointly by Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development, Tokyo Tatemono, and The Sankei Building, with IHG operating it as Japan's second Holiday Inn Express.
The hotel is planned with 223 rooms in a 13-story steel-frame building. It is about a five-minute walk from Susukino Station on the Sapporo Municipal Subway Namboku Line and about a three-minute walk from the Shiseikan Shogakko-mae streetcar stop.
Facilities are expected to include Express Cafe, a fitness center, and laundry. IHG says the hotel will be the first property in Japan to adopt the brand's next-generation Generation 5 design.
