Keikyu Kamata Station

Overview

The two Kamata stations serve different journeys. Keikyu Kamata is the eastern rail hub in Tokyo-Kamata and the one for direct Airport Line trains to Haneda. Kamata Station, served by JR and Tokyu routes, is about a 15-minute walk west.

That distinction matters with luggage. If your hotel or flight plans point to Keikyu Kamata, don't head for JR Kamata simply because the names look similar.

Lines and connections

The Keikyu Main Line runs north toward Shinagawa and south through Kawasaki to Yokohama. At Keikyu Kamata, the Airport Line branches east toward Haneda Airport.

Several service types stop here, but their destinations and stopping patterns differ. Check both the destination and platform display before boarding, especially when changing branches.

Airport access

Airport Line trains run directly from Keikyu Kamata to both Haneda Airport stations, serving Terminal 3 and Terminals 1 and 2. Starting here avoids the transfer or street walk required when traveling from JR Kamata.

When matching a train to your flight, confirm the terminal name and current timetable before setting out.

Station area

The elevated station has lifts and escalators. Wing Kitchen Keikyu Kamata provides shops and food beside the station, along with the Ota City Tourist Information Center.

Hotel Oriental Express Tokyo Kamata is three minutes on foot from the East Exit, keeping the final walk short after an airport train.

Good to know

The operator name matters more than the shared neighborhood name: Keikyu means Keikyu Kamata Station, while JR or Tokyu means Kamata Station. The stations don't share a concourse or rail connection, so allow time for the street walk if your itinerary uses both.
